How to prepare for your wax

Is there anything I should tell my wax expert?

Because we care about your health and the integrity of your skin, we require ALL NEW GUESTS to complete our service form(s) prior to your wax reservation.

Let your hair grow out

In order for the wax to grab onto the hairs, you’ll need to let your hair grow out at least ¼ inches before your wax. Please don’t shave for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough! Also, if you’ve “let it go” and it seems out of control, don’t worry! We will take care of any necessary preparation before the removal process.

Plan your outfit (and day) accordingly

Post-wax, your skin is often red and irritated. Wear loose clothing to your reservation so you'll be comfy afterwards. To avoid more irritation or ingrown hairs, you should steer clear of applying too much friction from tight-fitting clothing or exercise.

Exfoliate and Moisturize

While you’re showering, exfoliate to help remove dead skin cells in the area you’ll be waxing. This will make the hair easier to remove and help reduce the chances of ingrown hairs.

Work out before your wax, but not after

Working out right after may cause an adverse reaction to your freshly waxed skin. We recommend waiting 24 to 48 hours, especially if you are new to waxing.

Don’t drink a lot of caffeine or alcohol

Stimulants in the system can cause skin to be extra sensitive to waxing. Give yourself a couple hours after drinking coffee or alcohol before getting waxed. Instead, drink a lot of water to hydrate your body and skin.

Minimize pain before getting wax

If you have a low pain tolerance, take an aspirin or ibuprofen 30 - 45 mins before your appointment to reduce discomfort.
